Walking tours reveal Bayfield’s fascinating
story
There are few better ways to
experience the majestic history of Bayfield than by taking a step back in time
with the Bayfield Historical Walking tours.
Hosted by the Bayfield
Historical Society, the walks are available in two different styles;
self-guided with the help of a $5 booklet or guided for $10 through volunteers
like Ralph Laviolette.
Laviolette, who has
run the walks for years, says the village is full of unique historical
experiences that can’t be found elsewhere.
The tour starts from
the Bayfield Historical Society and Archives building at 20 Bayfield
Main Street North on Saturday at 1 p.m. from July to August.
For those who want to experience the tour but can’t make the trip during the warmer weather, the historical society has recently made the jump to digital and the stops are available on their website and through YouTube.
